THE GOAL

The Macallan was looking to tap into LA Times’ red carpet Envelope Live screening series to reach Hollywood insiders and women working in cinema to share their stories and promote The Macallan’s short film The Spirit of 1926.

HOW?

The LA Times partnered with The Macallan to produce an event spotlighting female directors and actresses making waves in Hollywood with a panel moderated by The Macallan. We also screened the film The Spirit of 1926 and ended the event with a VIP cocktail party inviting guests to taste a selection of The Macallan cocktails.

Promotional flyer for a live screening and Q&A event hosted by the Los Angeles Times in partnership with The Macallan, titled “The Spirit of 1926.” On the left is a vintage-style photo of a woman dressed in a checkered suit and hat, standing in front of a traditional white house. A bottle of The Macallan 18 whiskey appears in the corner with text noting Nettie Harbinson’s creation of the most valuable bottle of wine or spirit ever sold at auction. On the right, event details are provided: February 21 at 6:30 p.m. at NeueHouse Hollywood, with a QR code to RSVP.
Two bottles of The Macallan 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky sit on a round marble table, one labeled “Sherry Oak Cask” and the other “Double Cask.” Between them are two cocktails—one dark red in a stemmed glass and the other golden with a citrus garnish in a tall glass. A floral arrangement with red and dark leaves adds an elegant backdrop.

RESULTS

We received 665 RSVPs for the event, surpassing our RSVP goal by 33 percent, and two million promotional impressions for the event, surpassing our goal for media by 30 percent. Most importantly, the event provided a perfect platform for The Macallan to showcase their film and align with female tastemakers in Hollywood.
